Hear from Families I’ve Supported

  • Olivia from Blooming Births is such a wonderfully nurturing and calming presence, especially so in the birth room. I was first struck by how nurturing she was over our call on Zoom - it was my 3rd pregnancy, and my 2nd time choosing a doula to be part of my birth team for my 2nd VBAC. From the moment we met, I always felt safe in her presence - she has the ability to create judgement free spaces and as such, let the beauty of nature take its course.

While my 2nd VBAC was successful, there were unexpected twists and turns - Olivia handled these beautifully, often reassuring me, and also guiding my husband with just-in-time tips and support to tide me through the early labour stage. In the final stage of labour when the waves of contraction were at its peak, Olivia had a wonderful range of pain relief measures in her magical luggage! From her gentle touches, affirming and encouraging words, to a combination of using a birth comb, hip squeezes and TENS machine, we successfully achieved the 2nd VBAC and delivered our daughter without any medicated pain relief methods. It was an intense experience due to the required use of oxytocin but I am so grateful to have Olivia by our side so that we could still birth naturally.

Olivia also checked in post birth at timely junctures, reminding us that the seasons of nights that bleed into day time were hard yet fleeting. She also gifted us with a written account of our birth story which I so appreciated and hold close to my heart, especially in moments of great despair on those long nights - sometimes looking back at how our daughter’s life began on Earth was the strength I needed to carry on.

Thank you dear Olivia, for not only being a fantastic doula, but for being such a light for us all!

  • This is a very delayed review—written exactly one year after the birth of my gorgeous son.

I truly believe he has taken on the beautiful traits of the incredible doula who supported his mumma during the most crucial stage of labour.
I met Olivia right in the middle of my labour. She wasn’t originally my doula—Tania was—but I had signed up knowing that Warda would step in if needed. During my long labour, Warda had to step away for a while, and that’s when Olivia came in. I was anxious—you don’t expect to meet a stranger at such a vulnerable and intimate moment.

But the instant Olivia walked into the room, everything shifted. There was a fresh, calming, positive energy about her. She carries a rare mix of childlike innocence and a deeply nurturing, motherly presence. Warm, gentle, fun, and incredibly grounding—I felt at ease with her almost immediately.

During the toughest moments, she stood by me and stood up for me. She advocated for my choices, guided me through gentle exercises, and most importantly, held me emotionally when I had to make the difficult decision to go for a C-section. She also helped me latch my son beautifully—something that became one of the most precious moments of my life, and an experience many mums don’t always get.

I will always be grateful that Olivia was there for me. It truly felt like everything unfolded exactly as it was meant to. I would wholeheartedly recommend Olivia to anyone considering a doula. It’s such an underrated service—and absolutely worth every penny.

P.S. Olivia remained with me through the rest of my labour, as I needed that continuity—and by then, I truly didn’t want her to go.

P.S. Olivia, Tania, and Warda documented my entire labour journey and created a stunning journal from it. Truly the most special gift.

  • Olivia is a fabulous doula, she supported me from first trimester by follow up on my status, encouraging. I am a second time mummy that was on VBAC. Olivia always gave me motivation that I can make it. On my delivery day, Olivia was at the hospital the very moment I arrived. She is a knowledgeable on how to handle when I have surge. Before I was into active labour, we walked the stairs at hospital. She was with me for about 6 hours. Without Olivia, I wouldn't have success on VBAC. Will highly recommended Olivia to any mummy that plans to hire a doula. Personally I think doula is very important. Thanks Olivia!

  • Our doula Olivia was a calm and steady presence in the labour ward. During labor, Olivia was present, encouraging, and deeply reassuring — offering comfort measures, advocating for our wishes with the medical team, and helping us stay focused.

All I can say is engaging a doula here is the best!! Supportive, knowledgeable, and compassionate from pregnancy through postpartum. Helped me feel empowered during labor and provided invaluable postpartum guidance for breastfeeding. Highly recommend Olivia.
